Attack on Titan’s Recent Leaks Show Mikasa and Jean Visiting Eren’s Grave

Attack on Titan’s ending has been one the most controversial topic that we have come across in the past few years. Some consider it a fitting end of this legendary tale, while others are grief-stricken by Eren’s death.

I wonder if Hajime Isayama himself is satisfied with the final chapter. In a recent interview, the mangaka revealed that the publisher gave him a specific page limit, and he had to cut short 8-10 pages of content.

If that’s true, it’s only fair for Isayama to give the fans what he initially intended to include when the 34th volume comes out. As you may already know by now, the upcoming volume will have 8 ‘additional pages that weren’t seen in the magazine.

1. Will there be an Alternate Ending?

The news of additional pages gave hope to the fans who were disappointed by the manga’s ending. However, the chances of actually getting an alternate ending are pretty slim.

What I think is, we will get to see an extension of the existing conclusion, comprising of the panels that Isayama had to drop.

It will mainly focus on the main characters’ lives (especially Mikasa) after Eren’s death.

2. Leaks of the Extra Pages

For the last few days, leaks of these exclusive extra pages are seen all over the internet. While many of them are fake, a few panels are leaked from sources that have been reliable in the past and appear to be authentic.

I. Jean and Mikasa Visit Eren’s Grave

Among all the leaks, the most viral one is a textless panel of a middle-aged couple visiting a grave with their child.

Although the faces aren’t clear, the gentleman looks like Jean from behind. Fans are speculating that Jean and Mikasa are visiting Eren’s grave with their offspring.

The panel must be heart-breaking for any Eren fan like me, but I fear there’s a very high probability that what we will see in the final pages of Volume 34. Even Zekken confirmed this leak to be authentic.

II. Granny Mikasa

Another panel circulating the internet shows an aged Mikasa wearing the scarf, that Eren gave her, even at her death bed.

This shows how much she loved him, and probably she never really moved on from the tragic demise of her childhood friend in her own hands.

We also get to see an empty wheelchair that can either be of Mikasa or symbolize that Levi is no longer alive. (Since Levi was last seen in a wheelchair in the final chapter)

III. A Conversation Between Mikasa & Ymir

By now, we all must have gotten used to how Attack on Titans tends to swing between past and present within a single chapter. According to some leaks, these extra pages are no exception.

The panel takes us back to the moment right after Eren’s death when Mikasa had a short conversation with Ymir.

The chat was primarily one-sided where Mikasa said,

I think your love is like a long nightmare… all the lives that have been taken… you can’t get them back … Even though that’s the case, this current version of me exists because you gave birth to those lives. Rest in peace… Ymir

IV. Tree and the Kid

The tree next to Eren’s grave grew taller and wider till it became like the one where the worm once was. It stands out in the midst of other trees and draws the attention of a curious boy with his dog.

After checking its structure for a while, he walks into the tree’s cavity, which was a size of a door. Fans are wondering if this event sets the beginning of a new story.

3. Final Thoughts

These are just a few leaks that claim to be of the extra pages, and you will find many more on the internet. Here, I have only included the ones that are from trustworthy sources.

However, there’s no way of telling if all of them are really authentic, but at least they look promising enough to start a debate among your friend circle. 😉

In one of the text leaks, it is said,

Paradis Island was destroyed because of the war, but the power of Titans did not disappear.

This clearly hints that the Titan powers are passed on to the new generation, so I won’t be surprised to see a new Armored Titan in the manga panels someday in the future.

What I think is, Isayama kept the doors open for a possible sequel by introducing the new boy in the final panels.

We still have a little knowledge of the powers of the Founding Titan, and who knows what will happen when the boy enters the tree that possibly bears the will of Eren Yeager!

4. About Attack on Titan
