Yet, we are all waiting for the moment when she will finally open her eyes to the truth. Because we all know where blind hatred has taken the characters of the series. I mean, look how Reiner was begging to be killed!

1. Counterfeits and Irony

Gabi and Falco manage to run away from the prison after mortally wounding a soldier who was concerned for Gabi’s health. Ironically, they are taken in by some Eldians who provide them shelter and food without a hint of suspicion in their hearts.

They put up the act of being a runaway brother and sister duo. However, their flimsy acting doesn’t fool Kaya, the girl who decided to help them. Gabi is at the end of her wits and she is violently reacting to every small thing.

When she realizes that Kaya knows their original identity, she was even ready to silence her forever. This makes us question just how inhuman Marley is that they had to root such a hateful belief system in a mere child. She is just 12 years old and already a merciless killer.

Even on the Paradis island, Eren, Mikasa and Levi were trained for the survey corps from the same age. While the Paradisians had to fight to ensure their own survival, Marley fights for domination.

We should remember that Gabi is supposed to inherit a titan. Marley did not even stop to think about what will happen if such an unstable 12-year-old kid inherits the destructive power of a titan. Maybe the chaos caused by Eren in Marley would have taken place in the heart of Paradis by Gabi.

The irony reaches an unbelievable point when we realize that the people who have sheltered Falco and Gabi are Sasha’s parents. The people who she calls the island’s devils run a farm where they take in homeless kids.

2. Whose Fault is it?

When Kaya takes Gabi and Falco to the place where she witnessed her mom getting eaten by a titan, Gabi spouts that it is their ancestors’ sins that they are repenting for.

Kaya finally asks the questions that Gabi needed to face. Her mother was never involved with any slaughter or forceful practices, so why did she have to die? Is there really any answer to this question? Thousands of victims are left in the wake of some power-hungry people.

Gabi is slowly realizing that she is hanging onto beliefs that are slowly being proven wrong. That is why she struggles to keep her Eldian armband. She clutches at the same band that marked her as a lowborn filthy Eldian in Marley.

The ideals of Marley does not apply to Falco who has come to realize the truth behind Paradis. Similarly, Eren’s attack on Marley doesn’t mean that every Paradisian is a blood-thirsty devil.

3. The Beginning of a Divide

The survey corps has already started to get divided into the faction that supports Eren and those who don’t. The one pulling the strings from the shadows is Yelena. She has managed to convince Eren that taking things in his own hands is the only way to go. She has also managed to persuade a part of the survey corps to blindly follow Eren.

The divide between these two factions will keep increasing until they have to fight against their own kind. However, if violence is answered by more violence, the senseless wars will never come to an end.

With episode 11, Attack on Titan has set the pace for a bigger plan to unfold. Reiner suggests a sudden attack on Paradis. Gabi and Falco are being rescued only for their worth as warrior candidates. Will the next episode show a change in attitude of Gabi or will she keep blindly believing in the lies of Marley?
