Angel Beats is a Spring 2010 anime that concluded its run in December 2010 with an epilogue release. After the series ended, the audience was left with a void, hoping that it would be filled after Season 2.
Set in some sort of a purgatory school, the story of Angel Beats follows Otonashi, a young boy who suddenly finds himself in the said setting. He wakes up in the middle of a battle between seemingly young schoolgirls with military-grade weapons.
Not knowing what was going on or where he exactly was, Otonashi gets “killed” in the fight but discovers that he couldn’t die. In this bizarre environment, he decides to find out more about himself and the place he was thrown into.

Season 2 of Angel Beats is yet to be announced. We can expect a new season to release in 2022. However, the story of Angel Beats is complete. Season 1, OVAs, and specials tell us everything we need to know about the story, so it’s highly unlikely that Angel Beats get renewed.
Since the show is extremely popular and loved, fans still anticipate their favorite supernatural drama to get revived.
2. What To Expect From Season 2
Season 2 of Angel Beats could present itself with the continuation of the story after the epilogue. Angel Beats! Another Epilogue is the last installment in the franchise as of now and shows an alternate timeline where Otonashi stayed behind in the afterlife to help people pass on.
Another possibility is that the show might receive a new cast altogether, with the story taking place in the same universe.
3. About Angel Beats!
Otonashi, a high school student, suddenly wakes up in the middle of an intense battle between two strange girls. He doesn’t remember anything other than his name.
By the time he comes to his senses, he realizes that he was dead and was in the afterlife. Yuri, one of the girls from the strange fight, tells him that she’s forming an alliance against Tenshi, her rival. Unable to believe that Tenshi was evil, Otonashi tries to speak to her but fails miserably.
Despite feeling strangely attracted to Tenshi, Otonashi joins Yuri and her team called the Shinda Sekai Sensen or the SSS. While trying to figure out the mysterious vibe that surrounds Tenshi, he slowly unravels the secrets of the afterlife.
