Cassian Andor’s story progresses in the Rogue One spinoff as Episode 5 releases on Disney+ on October 5, 2022. Titled “The Axe Forgets,” Episode 5 jumps from the story of the Rebels to the recently introduced Mon Mothma and even Syril, who still plans to go looking for Andor himself.
The Star Wars spinoff TV Series sees the return of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor (known as Clem to the Rebels) and his journey from being a thief to the most significant revolutionary to stand against the Galactic Empire. The sci-fi action also stars Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Joplin Sibtain, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Sule Rimi, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Following the introduction of Mon Mothma in the previous episode, Episode 5 documents the real reason behind Skeen and Gorn’s cause against the Galactic Empire and their loyalty to the rebels.
In a shocking twist, Clem is almost discovered by the Rebels as a double agent, but some part of his secret slips and changes the group’s dynamic towards him. The episode ends with Syril planning his direct move against Andor, Clem’s outing, and Rael’s doubts about Cassian’s skills to pull off the mission without being detected.
Throughout the episode, Mon Mothma’s husband and daughter doubt the Imperial Senate member just as Cassian, sorry Clem, is suspected to be a spy by Keen. While Mothma’s secret is still safe by the end of episode 5, Cassian lets slip that he is working with the Rebels not because he serves a cause but only because he is looking for a payout.
This slip of the tongue might as well cost Clem the already shaky trust that he had managed to build in the previous episodes and might make him more susceptible to being betrayed by his rebel crew when Syril comes to find him.
Speaking of betrayals, Rael has started to doubt Cassian’s capability of executing his spy mission and is beginning to suspect that Cassian might lead to the discovery of his alliance with the Rebels.
Will Cassian be able to gain back the trust of the Rebel Alliance while keeping his treasure safe from the ever-suspicious Keen? Will Syril finally catch up to Andor and bring him to justice? Will Rael end up cutting ties with Cassian to ensure his own safety?
Andor will return with new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+.
