Akira Toriyama is one name every shonen fan will remember. His works, particularly Dragon Ball, have created a generation of Japanese pop-culture enthusiasts. Most millennials remember Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z as their first introduction to anime.
Toriyama continues to build a new generation and keep old fans happy with Dragon Ball Super and an upcoming project Sand Land.
On Wednesday, the official website for the Sand Land project revealed that the anime will be released as a theatrical film on August 18. The team also released three character visuals.

The film will be co-produced by Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anima. The main cast and staff are yet to be revealed.
Being a short story manga spanning fourteen chapters, an anime film format is understandable. However, it needs to be adapted properly, ensuring the length constraints do not affect the overall narrative.
