Additional Cast for Second Season of 100-man Announced

We’ve all been through that phase in our life (or some might even be going through it now) when it becomes difficult to point a finger towards one thing you need/want, be it for good or worse. Having no aim in life is like a poison that will kill you sooner or later.

But what will happen when Yotsuya Yuusuke, a teenager going through this phase gets isekai’d and is forced to work together with other children of his age to stay alive?

Yeah, on the surface, it might sound like just another cliché isekai anime, but I’m Standing on a Million Lives packs much more than just that. After the critically distinguished first season, it is set to premiere the second season.

The official website for the anime 100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru has released a new PV for the upcoming second season of the anime, confirming its premiere in July.

The rest of the cast and working staff will be returning from Season 1 to work on the upcoming season. Even Kanako Takatsuki, who sang the OP for the first season, will be returning to perform the ending theme, Subversive, for the second season.

And if you had fallen quite deep into the rabbit hole of VTubers and followed Nijisanji very closely, then you’ll be delighted to know that Kaede Higuchi will be performing the opening theme, Baddest, for the upcoming season of I’m Standing on a Million Lives.

Although the first season got critically shunned for being the generic isekai anime with the MC building his own harem world, further down the road, 100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru flips the stereotypical isekai theme and builds something unique with the skills and techniques that make the show stand out among the bunch.

Yeah, I know. I hate to be the guy who says, “go read the source material,” but I’m Standing on a Million Lives is one of the series that pushes me to the edge to recommend the source material over the anime for various reasons.

The first season of the anime gradates the word-building at a snail’s pace and has many fillers sprinkled around the episodes to help the audience better understand the characters’ feelings. But anime has covered just a prologue of the series, and with the second season, we can expect the studio to bounce back.

In case you missed the airing of the first season of 100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru or just want to watch it again, TOKYO MX and BS11 will be re-broadcasting the first season from April 9 for the premiere of the second season in July.
