86’s High School Comedy Spinoff Manga Comes to An End

Lena might be an elite major in the main story, but she is just another high school student in 86: Operation High School manga. The alternate story takes place in an almost heavenly setting compared to the 86 world, but it seems like her time in peace has come to an end.

The spinoff imagines a world where none of the terrible events of the story take place and, Lena and Shin enjoy their lives as normal students. Lena is exceptional as usual, she is the student council president of a prestigious school, and Shin is the captain of the Kendo team.

Alas, there won’t be any more of this ordinary life for the duo.

The 86 spinoff manga, 86: Operation High School, has ended. The spinoff published its last chapter in the October issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine.

Kadokawa will publish the series’s second volume on September 22, 2021.

Although the spinoff is quite different from the main story, seeing the characters in a standard high school setting was refreshing. Many fans craved more of this sweet story.

For the fans who enjoy that dystopian setting, the series has a four-panel spinoff manga in the works which takes place in the main universe. Although the details aren’t out yet, the story is likely to be a prequel.
