7 Seeds is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yumi Tamura that was first published in 2001 in the magazine Betsucomi and later in Flowers. After 35 volumes, the manga came to an end in 2017.
And after almost two decades, it received an adaptation into an anime series that is currently being animated by Gonzo and Studio Kai. The anime first premiered in June 2019.
1. Release Date & Highlights
The second season of the anime was recently released in March 2020 and again left us all with an inconclusive ending, just like the first season.
After all, it’s a small world. The vague ending left a lot of room for a whole new season. Many of its characters are still left to be explored; even its post-apocalyptic world shows a lot of potential for new plot points.
As of now, ‘7 Seeds’ Season 3 has not been officially green-lit by Netflix. If it is already being considered for a sequel, we can expect ‘7 Seeds’ Season 3 to release sometime in the spring of 2021.
2. Expected Storyline/Plot
In the last episode of Part 2, we saw Natsu, Arashi, Ango, and the team got entangled in two problems. The bacteria on the ship started attacking, and there was not much time left as the missile countdown came closer. The team makes a mad dash to exit, and boy, they successfully made it out of there.
The journey isn’t over yet, although the bonds between team members have tightened. Ango and Ryo have fully integrated into Summer Team B, Tendo, and Ryo happen to have grown close together, and Ango turned himself a better leader. The next season will be a continuation from where it ended.
Don’t forget Hana and Arashi haven’t found each other yet, but they seem prepared to deal with the world they live in.

7. About 7 Seeds
Before a huge meteorite collides with the surface of the earth and kills almost every living creature, the world leaders get together and initiate the ‘7 Seeds’ project to preserve humanity. Five distinct groups of seven healthy individuals are preserved through cryogenics.
They are only released to the world outside when they have access to necessities for survival. Waking up from their sleep after several years, the members of the five groups realize that their world is not the same anymore. With this, they mourn the death of their loved ones and try to survive in their new post-apocalyptic surroundings, while trying to get along with the strangers who surround them.
