SPOILERS AHEAD! This page contains spoilers from Dr. Stone.

5. The Kingdom of Science’s Goals

Unless you rewatch the series, you’ll never come to a solid conclusion what Senku and his friends were really planning.

Anime viewers were redirected to think that the Kingdom of Science waged war against Tsukasa’s Empire Might to retrieve Chrome. But even before Chrome got kidnapped, Senku’s goal was to infiltrate Tsukasa Land!

That’s right! Infiltration is the solitary goal of the Kingdom of Science so Senku and his crew can retrieve the nitric acid from the Miracle Cave!

And since we’re talking about spying, might as well bring in Taiju and Yuzuriha. These two are simply the “Adam and Eve” of Tsukasa Land! 😊

Taiju and Yuzuriha’s reappearance in the last episode of Season 1 is a joy to behold! Without them acting as the moles in Tsukasa Land, the Ishigami Village would have a hard time progressing with their plans of attack.

It’s also thanks to Chrome, Gen, and Magma that the Kingdom of Science was able to recruit one more ally on Senku’s side.

4. Senku’s Military Inventions

A small village comprising of 40+ people isn’t really an army unless it has weapons. But thanks to our resident genius scientist Senku, the Ishigami Village stood a fighting chance against Tsukasa’s Empire Might!

Senku has created weapons of war without us (the viewers) even realizing what the Ishigami Village is now truly capable of! It is in front of our noses yet we either missed them or don’t take them seriously.

That’s because the series’ comedic elements downplay the gravity and seriousness when an anime character acquires and wields weapons of wars (guns, crossbows, swords, shields, and other firearms).

It might not be obvious to many in-universe characters like Kinro and Ginro (who were gifted golden and silver spears, respectively) and Kaseki (a blacksmith who forged a sword in the Stone World in Season 1).

But mentalist Gen and insightful Chrome smell the flames of Senku’s war visions even before the embers burn up to smokes in the air!

Senku also created gunpowder back in Season 1 as a bluff to scare off Hyōga and his men.

But in Stone Wars, he has upped his game and created the “Steam Gorilla” — a tank made from bamboo, paper, and “unhardened” or “stiff plastic”! Now that’s the Stone God for you! 🤣

With an engine such as the “Steam Gorilla” roaming around the Primitive Era, Senku has compressed 17centuries worth of knowledge and technological advancement into a couple of days! 🤓

Even if it’s only anime, it’s mind-boggling to think what Ishigami Village has accomplished through Senku’s help.

And mind you, ever since Senku showed up, every member of the village is thriving! Chrome, Gen, Kohaku, Suika, Kaseki, Magma, Kinro, Ginro, Ruri, Kokuyo, and many others anticipate the next invention Senku’s going to make.

Whether that’s a steam engine, gunpowder, a “smartphone”, or cotton candy, even viewers are mesmerized by Senku’s brilliant but beautiful mind!

3. Tsukasa’s Army in Empire Might

While Senku builds his toys from scratch (or nature) so Ishigami Village can ransack and rampage Empire Might, Tsukasa has been building his strong army.

The only problem hindering Tsukasa from realizing his dream is that almost everyone in Japan has turned to stone! Therefore, he doesn’t have a choice but to use Senku’s discovery: droplets of nitric acid from the Miracle Cave!

Collecting droplets of nitric acid takes a lot of time — maybe weeks, or even months! One bucket of nitric acid (combined with bat poop) is needed to revive one stone statue.

And in Season 1, we saw how Tsukasa’s army grew from merely a handful of soldiers to about the same size as members of the Ishigami Village!

This means that Tsukasa waited patiently for every nitric acid droplet (maybe for about a year or so) before upping his army to his desired numbers!

Strength in numbers and talent equal might and power in the Tsukasa Empire! Just look at the kinds of people he chose to revive:

a) Hyōga – As Tsukasa’s right-hand man, Hyōga pierces his enemies through his rotating pipe spear to fend them off. He’s the next strongest being after the Tsukasa thestrongest high-schooler primate.

b) Homura – Her revival was off-screen. But with her flexible body, insane speed, and keen intellect, she carried out Hyōga’s orders flawlessly when he asked her to burn Ishigami Village!

Her name means “flame” or “passion”, hence, her hot pink character design!

c) Nikki – Nikki’s sturdy built made her the perfect judo martial artist to climb to the top in modern Japanese competitions.

As the guard monitoring muscle-bound Taiju Oki and his damsel Yuzuriha Ogawa, Nikki’s job is to turn them in the moment she sees one act of betrayal from them. She is truly the perfect foe to Taiju and Yuzuhira’s schemes!

d) Ukyo – Ukyo was a navy sonar operator in the Old World. In Episodes 3 to 4 of Season 2, he utilized his incredible hearing skills to track down the Kingdom of Science infiltrators: Chrome, Gen, and Magma.

Ukyo fired shots at the trio using his bow and arrow! As Tsukasa’s left-hand man, Ukyo’s a fearsome opponent!

e) Yo Uei – Yo’s not to be messed around with even if he was introduced as Chrome’s prison guard back in Episode 6! Even though Yo was fired in his former policeman job in the Old World, he can wield guns, firearms, and artilleries!

When he confronted Chrome, it was truly one of the funniest duels I’ve seen to-date 😁! What I love about Yo is his love for the simplicity of the new world. It allowed Yo to roam freely even if chaos is ensuing!

2. Taiju and Yuzuriha’s roles in Season 2

When Taiju and Yuzuriha showed up in the last episode of Season 1 (as well as its 2nd opening) many fans were elated!

I even teared up a little bit when Senku finally spoke to Taiju and Yuzuriha through the “phone” that Ishigami Village worked so hard to make!

Finally, Taiju and Yuzuriha made a reappearance in the anime! I thought they’re gone for good, but I instantly remembered that Senku requested them to spy in Tsukasa Land! 😖

Taiju and Yuzuriha literally put themselves at risk by following Senku’s orders. At anytime, Tsukasa could have asked Hyōga, Nikki, or Ukyo to pin them down so he can extract Senku’s whereabouts from them.

In Season 2, we can clearly see the duo’s resolve to protect Senku’s location. They truly stepped up to become wonderful supporting characters of the series!

One more thing that piques my curiosity is something that Senku whispered to Yuzuriha back in Season 1. And my first thought on that? Clothes or laundry! 🤣 Senku knows all too well the dexterity of arts and crafts student Yuzuriha.

So, the first thought that came to my mind is that he assigned her the clothing department — that is, making as many clothes as she likes when Senku revives humanity. It’s a daunting and frightening task!

To sew 7+ billion clothes is insanity! 😨 In any case, I’ll just have to wait for Episode 7 of Season 2 to know what’s up with that secret message that Senku whispered to her. 😁

1. The Origins of Ishigami Village

When Season 1 explained the origins of Ishigami Village, I was awestruck! Senku’s foster father and his 5 astronaut pals were the “Founding Fathers”.

They were the first six natural and humans from the pre-petrification era to have walked the new earth!

Inside the International Space Station (ISS), there are the three male astronauts and three female astronauts: Byakuya, Lillian, Shamil, Connie, Yakov, and Darya).

That is how they survived! They were up in space while 7+ billion people were petrified! 😖

One of the female astronauts, Lilian, was a pop diva in the Old World! She even has a romantic chemistry with Byakuya!

However, since this isn’t a romance manga, their love became open-ended for fans to interpret; therefore, it’s alright if we either ship or not ship them. 🥰

Nevertheless, it’s still satisfying to know how only 6 people populated their small island despite having few technological possessions.

The founders’ backstories go deeper, especially when they lost their lives to natural diseases or old age! 😭 Sad, isn’t it?

It’s for these reasons that Season 1 increased viewership by the time Ishigami Village’s backstory was revealed to the audience! Senku’s foster father, Byakuya, possessed the biggest heart in mainstream anime!

Although he is funny and a wild card, he literally gifted Senku souvenirs: people and knowledge (“The 100 Tales” that was passed down for generations!).

The people of Ishigami Village became Senku’s first friends and allies after he departed ways with Taiju and Yuzuriha.

So, if we think about it, the villagers of Ishigami Village are Byakuya’s parting gifts to Senku! That way, Senku can jumpstart humanity and civilization all in one go!

Byakuya is so popular in the fandom that a side story was dedicated to him: Dr. STONE Reboot: Byakuya. He’s truly one of the best fathers in anime history! 😁
