The rank of ‘Great General’ is the highest position in most military organizations. Those who hold the rank carry the responsibility of commanding multitudes of soldiers in countless battles.

Generals in Kingdom are considered the most experienced and talented commanders who become living symbols of their state’s power and glory.

Combat strength, strategy, tactical prowess, intelligence, leadership, and experience, all play a crucial role in determining the greatness of a general.

In this article, I list the top 15 greatest generals in the Kingdom anime so far, from the states of Qin, Zhao, Wei, Chu, Yan, and Han.

15. Roku O Mi

Roku O Mi is a general from the state of Qin serving under Great General Tou. He used to be the commander of the first army of Qin and a vassal in General Ou Ki’s army.

Roko O Mi is a capable military leader and skilled warrior on the battlefield.

Even before becoming a general, he was rumored to be on par with actual generals and was considered to be the strongest among all the commanders in the Ou Ki army. He also possesses decent tactical and strategic skills.

14. Mou Gou

Mou Gou possessed enormous brute strength but lost a lot of his combat skill after his arm was severed by Ren Pa. He was a general who fought by the book and would usually surround a city and pressure it with attacks till he found an opening to strike. He was also skilled in terrain manipulation.

13. Duke Hyou

Duke Hyou had skills on par with the Six Great Generals and was offered the position many times but always turned it down. He possessed immense strength and was proficient with a glaive.

He also was famous for his leadership skills and charisma, but lacked tactical sense and would often recklessly send his men to die for nothing.

12. Geki Shin

Geki Shin possessed considerable fighting skills and showed a proficiency with a glaive. He was also a charismatic leader who recruited many mountain tribes into his army. He also spent a long time observing, researching and harnessing the tactics of Gaku Ki and used them in combat.

11. Earl Shi

Earl Shi is considered to be the best spear wielder in the entire anime. His mastery of the spear is said to be so great that he is able to deal attacks to the point where his enemies are incapable of noticing that they’ve been struck. He is also a capable leader and has considerable knowledge of tatical skills,

10. Kan Mei

Kan Mei is considered one of the strongest warriors in China in terms of brute force. He is also an expert in using many weapons, such as a sword, a meteor hammer and a mace. He is also a good, charismatic military leader and has decent knowledge of battlefield tactics.

9. Mou Bu

Mou Bu is a powerful warrior who weilds a massive club that can smash through armored cavalry. He also possesses great leadership skills and can even turn peasants into powerful warriors. Despite his brutal nature, he also has a good understanding of warfare and battle formations,

8. Kan Ki

Kan Ki was an aggressive man who was known to be a prodigy at warfare. He is a capable combatant who is famous for using unorthodox tactics in battle.

He is a powerful swordsman as well as a proficient archer. He is also seen to be a charismatic leader whose tactics specialize in psychological warfare.

7. Tou

As the second generation master of Rasen, Tou can cut through entire enemy spearmen with little effort while riding his armored horse.

After the death of Ou Ki, Tou became the leader of the Ou Ki army as they reformed into the Tou Army. His eyes and mind for tactics are also on par with the best of strategists.

6. Ou Sen

Ou Sen has often been compared to the likes of Ou Ki and Haku Ki from a generation before him. His strength values depict him as a capable combatant and he also shows strong leadership skills despite contrary opinions of him. He also has great levels on insight and has the ability to predict his opponents moves and tactics.

5. Yo Tan Wa

Yo Tan Wa is an excellent swordswoman and hand-to-hand combatant. Her attack strategies often involves her risking her life  as bait to allow her commanders to gain the upper hand in battle. She is considered one of the most talented military commanders of her era.

4. Haku Ki

Though he hasn’t been seen fighting in the anime, Haku Ki’s strength and position among the Great Generals of Qin indicate that he really was a formidable presence on the battlefield.

He specialized in terrain manipulation and was also a cautious man who avoided risks and mainly relied on his intuition in combat.

3. Ri Boku

Ri Boku is a master swordsman with numerous battle scars. He is also a master strategist and manipulator. He has the most battle experience, even when compared to people like Ou Sen, Shou Hei Kun or Haku Ki.

2. Ou Ki

Ou Ki was a charismatic leader who could raise the morale of his soldiers with his presence alone. He possessed monstrous strength and impressive tactical abilities as well. His opponents compared his defensive formations to a wall of iron.

After adding his leadership skills and loyal subordinates, he is easily one of the strongest characters on screen till now.

Ren Pa is known as the wandering living legend. He left the Zhao army and then joined Wei’s army, but he was exiled from Wei after the Sanyou Campaign. Now, Ren Pa serves the State of Chu.

With achievements and victories that number in the thousands, Ren Pa is a greatly feared and respected figure in China. His skills are so advanced that even Ri Boku stated that not even he could defeat him in a direct battle.

The manga provides a fictionalised account of the Warring States period primarily through the experiences of the war orphan Xin and his comrades.
